Sheffield United 1 West Ham 1 (Sheffield United win 3-1 on pens after extra time)The FA Cup, Fourth Round ReplayBramall Lane13 February 2005Sheffield United set up an FA Cup Fifth Round clash against Arsenal after dumping fellow Championship rivals West Ham out on penalties in this replay.Andy Liddell was the key player for the Blades with their goal in normal time before converting the winning penalty in the shoot-out.West Ham fell behind when Liddell found the net with a free-kick from the edge of the box after Paul Shaw had been fouled. But the home side were reduced to ten men when Chris Morgan hauled down Marlon Harewood in the box after the break which also gave the Hammers the chance to equalise from the spot.Teddy Sheringham made no mistake with his penalty, but there were to be no more goals in normal time or the extra period as the game went to a shoot-out.Sheringham was then one of three West Ham players - Harewood and Carl Fletcher were the others - to miss with their crucial penalties to put Sheffield United in control as Andy Gray and Jon Harley converted. And Liddell was coolness personified as he confused Stephen Bywater with a staggered run-up before stroking home the winning kick."It will be a great experience for some of the players to go to Arsenal in the next round," said Liddell."It's a massive game for the club and will be a great day out for everyone. They have got world-class players in every position and our first priority will probably be to keep the score down!"But it was a great result to beat West Ham because they are a good team and we have had some poor results in the league this season, so to win in the FA Cup was superb."
