The England Head Coach was at Loftus Road on Sunday to soak up some special FA Cup atmosphere as Ryman League Premier Division Yeading took on Premiership side Newcastle United.
"A real Cup game and I must say that Yeading did very well, especially in the first half before Newcastle scored five minutes in to the second half," Sven told TheFA.com.
"[Yeading were] fighting and also playing very good football. I was surprised - in the first half you couldn't see the difference in the leagues between the them but in the end Newcastle were too strong."
All Johnson Hippolyte's players were heroes in a magnificent display but the Yeading captain David Clarke put in a truly outstanding performance, earning himself a nomination as the Player of the Round.
Sven was certainly one of those watching who was impressed by the central midfielder's skill and commitment.
"I think he's a very good player. He did very well in the midfield and I think he could play football at a much higher level."
Fans have until 9.00am on Monday 17 January to register their vote for their player of the round on the homepage of TheFA.com.
The player who secures the most votes will be crowned FA Cup ‘Player of the Round’ and will win £1,000 worth of UMBRO football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice, plus an engraved silver salver.
He will also join The FA’s Team of The FA Cup who will enjoy VIP status at The FA Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 21 May and will be introduced to the crowd at half time.
The England Head Coach continued: "If the choice is him I would support it because he did very well."
On what was a great weekend of Cup football, non-League Exeter City pulled of one of the great FA Cup Third Round shocks as they drew 0-0 away to 11-times Cup winners Manchester United.
It was as remarkable a result as Sutton's win over Coventry in 1989 or any other Cup surprise of recent years and for Sven the game underlined the magic of The FA Cup.
"Who could imagine that things like that but that's the beauty of The FA Cup, I think, and that's why it's so popular," Sven said.
"If you are a normal football fan you always dream that the underdog will beat the big one and that's The Cup."
