Eric Sabin believes his side can make life uncomfortable for Harry Redknapp in the battle of the 'hamptons'.
Manager Redknapp already has a tough job to keep Southampton in the Premiership after joining the Saints from local rivals Portsmouth. And now his team head for Northampton in a very difficult FA Cup tie.
Now striker Sabin says the Cobblers are in the mood to pile on the misery and gain revenge for the 3-0 defeat his side suffered when the two teams met in the Carling Cup earlier in the season.
The Saints, who drew 3-3 at home to Fulham on Wednesday, have yet to win on their travels in the Premiership and Sabin knows they won’t be looking forward to the trip to the League Two promotion hopefuls in the Third Round of The FA Cup.
The former QPR forward said: "Anything can happen if we are ambitious and score first because they are struggling in the league and won’t be full of confidence.
"We won’t be turning up thinking this is our last game in The FA Cup. Most of the lads were frustrated after we played them in the Carling Cup because there was the feeling that we could have done more.
"We thought we could have won it if we had put a bit more craziness into our game and now we have another chance to prove we can beat them."
As for Southampton, they are desperate to put together a run of results that will finally turn their season around. And they have new signing Jamie Redknapp available for Saturday's big game.
Striker Kevin Phillips, who scored twice against Fulham, said: "Jamie coming here is a big boost for us and we have to move forward now.
"It's only natural to be low in confidence but the only way we can change it is by winning games and playing well."
