Milton Keynes Dons head into their Third Round clash on Saturday desperate to overcome Peterborough for the chance to take on one of the country's big guns.

The Dons changed their name from Wimbledon during the summer and are currently languishing near the bottom of League One.

MK full back Dean Lewington is one of the few young stars left from that Wimbledon side and insists the players are relishing the chance of an FA Cup run.

Last season the Dons put on a superb display in a Fourth Round defeat to Birmingham, where they narrowly lost 1-0.

It was after that game that top players including Nigel Reo-Coker, Adam Nowland and Jobi McAnuff left the club.

But now Lewington is looking to help Milton Keynes bounce back.

He said: "Obviously in the Third Round you hope to play one of the big teams but this is a chance for us to reach the Fourth Round.

"Peterborough are down there with us in League One, so we know it will be a tight game but of course we have a chance of progressing.

"Our home form has been OK, particularly under Danny Wilson. Since he came in as manager we have played a little better and everyone has come together.

"We are looking to build here again and we want to get away from the relegation zone. But a win in The FA Cup would give us all a massive lift.

"And who knows we might get the chance to play one of the big clubs in the next round."
