The draw for The FA Cup’s Fourth Round Qualifying was made at Soho Square this morning.
This is the final qualifying round and 64 teams are now just one victory from the promised land of the First Round Proper.
The 22 Conference clubs enter at this Fourth Round Qualifying stage and Barnet, six points clear at the top, have a home tie with another Conference outfit in Farnborough Town.
Carlisle United and York City, both relegated from the Football League last season and not accustomed to playing in the qualifiers, have drawn each other.
Some of the smaller teams have interesting pairings. Wessex League Lymington & New Milton, who have knocked out two Southern League Premier Division sides already, entertain Woking at Fawcetts Field as the Linnets attempt to reach the First Round Proper for the first time.
The Woking "Cards", mid-table in the Conference, have a great Cup history: in 1991, for example, they won 4-2 at West Bromwich Albion and then lost by the only goal at Everton in the Fourth Round.
In another romantic tie Western League Hallen, who edged Bishop’s Cleeve 3-2 on Saturday, make the trip to Canvey Island who have made a solid start to their first Conference campaign, losing just three out of 14 matches.
Another side looking to make their debut in the First Round Proper are Ashford Town (Middx) and they will feel they have a chance in the Middlesex derby at Conference South Hayes.
Hornchurch, riding high in the Conference South, will find Gravesend & Northfleet a tough proposition at Bridge Avenue. The date for the Fourth Qualifying Round is 30th October and the winners pick up £10,000 each.
