They include Shepshed Dynamo’s Chris Henson, who scored all four in the club’s 4-2 defeat of Grantham and hat-trick hero Allan Arthur who starred in Beaconsfield SYCOB’s 5-3 win over Hitchin.

Also nominated are Skelmersdale Utd’s Lee Thompson who bagged both goals in the 2-0 shock victory over Blyth Spartans and Bamber Bridge’s Chris Ward, who scored an 18-minute hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Blackpool Mechanics.

Now fans are being urged to voice their support for all four players by voting in an on-line poll here on TheFA.com.

Fans have just seven days to register their support as votes must be cast by 9.00am on Monday 27 September.

The player who secures the most votes will be crowned FA Cup ‘Player of the Round’ and will win £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice.

He will also receive an engraved silver salver and an UMBRO kit player package.

The successful player will also be the first player to join The Team of The FA Cup, guaranteeing VIP attendance at The FA Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 21 May 2005 and a chance-of-a-lifetime introduction to the crowd, pitch side at half time.

The Team of The FA Cup will comprise Player of the Round winners from the First Qualifying round to the Semi Final.

Last year’s team included five non-league players as well as Premiership stars Bruno Cheyrou, Jose Antonio Reyes and Freddie Ljungberg.

Sir Trevor Brooking, The FA’s Director of Football Development, said: "The FA Cup always produces heroic performances that live long in the memory of fans.

"Performances at the weekend may not generate the same column inches as a semi-final winning goal, but the players’ outstanding contributions to the competition are something that The FA is delighted to recognise.

"All four players thoroughly deserve to be in the running for The FA Player of the Round award.

"Now fans have an opportunity to show their support to try and help them win £1000 worth of UMBRO kit to boost grass roots football in the local community as well as book their place at The FA Cup Final in eight months time."
