Player award is back

This weekend 248 clubs will battle it out for a place in the Second Qualifying Round of The FA Cup, and a chance to earn £2,250 from The FA Cup Prize Fund.
The weekend also marks the return of The FA Cup Player of the Round Award, in partnership with UMBRO.
This year a media panel; Ricky George of The Daily Telegraph, and scorer of one of the most famous FA Cup goals, in Hereford United's giantkilling of Newcastle United in 1972, Stuart Robertson of The Independent, Walter Gammie of The Times, David Watters of the Non League Paper and Mark Clemmit of BBC Five Live will determine the nominees, with the first group of players being highlighted on TheFA.com on Monday morning.
Fans will then have just seven days to register their support as votes must be cast by 9.00am on Monday 27 September.
The player who secures the most votes, as well as being crowned 'Player of the Round', he will win £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice. He will also receive an engraved silver salver.
The successfu player will also be the first player to join The Team of The FA Cup, guaranteeing VIP attendance at The FA Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday 21 May 2005 and a chance-of-a-lifetime introduction to the crowd, pitch side at half time.
The Team of The FA Cup will comprise Player of the Round winners from the First Qualifying Round to the Semi-Final. Last year's team included five non-League players as well as Premiership stars Bruno Cheyrou, Jose Antonio Reyes and Freddie Ljungberg.
