Kevin, who scored all five goals in Bishop’s Cleeve FC’s 5-3 win over Highworth Town in the FA Cup First Round Qualifying, gained 45.9 per cent of the votes in an-line poll at TheFA.com.

Kevin has guaranteed his VIP seat at The FA Cup Final next May and a half-time introduction to the crowd.

Kevin was one of five FA Cup First Round Qualifying heroes short-listed for the Player of the Round award, run in partnership with UMBRO, after fans brought his five-goal tally to the attention of The FA.

His nomination prompted an unprecedented level of support from local media, led by BBC Radio Gloucestershire, prompting over 18,000 fans to register their support for him, out of a total of 39,630 votes.

In what emerged as a three-man race for the award, Kevin beat Shepshed Dynamo’s Chris Henson, who polled 41.51 per cent of the votes, and Skelmersdale United’s Lee Thompson, with 11.08 per cent.

Kevin, whose goals earned the Hellenic Football League outfit a second Qualifying Round tie at home to AFC Totton this Saturday, wins £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit and equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice. He also wins an engraved silver salver.

Delighted Kevin said: "It’s absolutely amazing to win the award, I can’t believe that the voting turned round so much. BBC Radio Gloucestershire was fantastic and really supported me throughout the week. I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who voted."

Bishops Cleeve’s Manager, Paul Collicutt added: "I am delighted he has won the award, scoring five goals in the First Round Qualifying may be something that no other player at Bishop’s Cleeve will do again.

"Kevin has become a bit of a local celebrity this week and has created some FA Cup history that fans will remember and talk about for many years to come."

The Team of The FA Cup will comprise Player of the Round winners from the First Round Qualifying to the Semi-Final.

Last year’s team included five non-League players as well as Premiership stars Jose Antonio Reyes, Freddie Ljungberg and Bruno Cheyrou.
