No club has won The FA Cup more times than Manchester United. The most recent of their ten successes came in 1999, when a 2-0 victory against Newcastle United constituted one third of a sensational "Treble".

United have won The Cup four times under Sir Alex Ferguson – in 1990, 1994 (half of a "Double"), 1996 (half of another "Double") and 1999. The club has featured in 15 Finals, one behind Arsenal’s record.

United lifted The Cup for the first time way back in 1909, only seven years after the club had changed its name from "Newton Heath".
Sandy Turnbull scored the goal that beat Bristol City at the old Crystal Palace.
Three years after the last war United won a classic Final 4-2 against the Blackpool of Matthews and Mortensen but they had only one more Final triumph to savour in the next 29 years.

United won twice in three years in the 1980s under Ron Atkinson. They lived dangerously in the first match with Brighton in ’83, Gordon Smith missing an easy chance for the Seagulls near the end.
But United were convincing replay winners and Norman Whiteside became the youngest Final scorer at 18 years 19 days, a record he still holds.
Two years later the young Irishman scored the extra-time goal that beat Everton.
After four lean years in The Cup, which included a sojourn to Brazil in 2000, United will be looking to add to their record number of Cup wins this time. But Arsenal, their conquerors in last year's Fifth Round, now stand in their way.
