Keane was playing in a remarkable sixth FA Cup Final and he was still excited by the buzz that The Cup Final brings.

"It is always nice to win - the last one is always the nicest," said Keane.

"All credit to Millwall, I thought they were outstanding.

"The goal before half-time was very important as Millwall had grown in confidence.

"Millwall had nothing to lose and we were on a hiding to nothing. It was about being patient and hoping that quality would tell, which it did."

Dutchman Ruud van Nistelrooy, so prolific in this competition, was United's second half hero with two goals, the first an emphatic penalty.

"I have missed the last one or two [penalties] and I took this one with full power," said Van Nistelrooy.

"It is the biggest cup in the world and so I am very pleased to have won it."
