Millwall have beaten Telford United 2-0 to go through to play Burnley in the Fifth Round of The FA Cup.

From the start Millwall made sure that the chances of an upset were limited by playing in a controlled fashion and their stylish play quickly saw them create the game's first chances.

Midfielder Tim Cahill and on-loan forward Danny Dichio both had chances in the opening quarter of an hour but failed to beat Chris MacKenzie in the Telford goal.

After Cahill again and Neil Harris had threatened MacKenzie's goal, the Londoners eventually scored their first goal nine minutes short of half-time.

Cahill, finding some space in the inside right channel, played a ball into Paul Ifill and from eighteen yards out, Ifill hit a well struck, slightly-delfected right-footed shot past a hapless MacKenzie.

Telford didn't allow the goal to spoil their night and they continued to trouble the First Division visitors whenever they managed to get into the final third.

However the resistance that the Conference side had admirably displayed was finally broken when Millwall's player-manager Dennis Wise scored with eight minutes to go.

Once again it was Cahill who supplied the pass and Wise, 16 yards out, finished with all the experience of a seasoned pro.

His side now go through to play Burnley at the weekend with a potentially lucrative Sixth Round tie as the prize.
