Earlier this week, FA staff discovered that the bowl which holds the balls for the draws had a chip in it, a revelation which caused a moment of panic at the Headquarters of football!

The bowl, introduced for the new-look set this season, has produced some of the most exciting fixtures in the Cup for years, not least Saturday's titanic Quarter-Final match-up between Arsenal and Chelsea at Highbury.

However, the routine check revealed that the bowl had picked up a slight knock amid all the recent action.

"We make sure everything is in place for the draws a couple of days before they take place and it's lucky we do, because on this occasion we spotted some damage to the bowl, which could even have resulted in some of the balls dropping out," confirmed The FA's James Wright who oversees the running the draw.

"We took hasty action and thankfully the bowl will be fully restored for its final FA Cup draw of the season on Monday."

Lets hope it can do the magic one last time.
