After an extraordinary FA Cup tie against Sunderland which was finally settled on penalties, Blackburn manager Graeme Souness was rueful over his side's exit at the hands of the Black Cats.

Sunderland win 3-0 on penalties FA Cup Fourth Round Replay
Wednesday 5th February 2003
"If we'd gone to penalties and won it on penalties we might have a different thought about Saturday, but we have to pick ourselves up," said the Blackburn boss.
"That's what the game is all about. It hurts, but tomorrow morning when we wake up, we've got to be ready to roll."
Just like in the first match at Ewood Park, Souness saw his side come from behind twice to keep their Cup hopes alive.
However this time Blackburn's efforts were in vain as Howard Wilkinson's Sunderland won 3-0 on penalties after extra time produced no more goals.
"I think that's the very first shoot-out I've ever lost either as a player or a manager," said Souness.
"I've won plenty of shoot-outs so now I know what it's like to lose one. It doesn't make it any better.
"It's what the FA Cup is all about. It's sudden death and we've lost on penalties. We've got a very hard game on Saturday at home to Southampton and it's a long trip home for us, especially after losing."
