Chipstead 1 THREE BRIDGES 3
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round
Saturday 14th September
Winning club received £7,500

Three Bridges proved size isn't everything and the triumphant result means they will be able to buy the tractor they need to keep their Jubilee Field ground in perfect nick.

The Sussex League side win £7,500 as a result of the victory but more importantly will go into the hat for Monday's draw for the FA Cup second qualifying round - only three matches away from a possible encounter with a Football League team. Bridges strikers Pat Massaro and Sean Gilbey were dwarfed by Chipstead's defenders but it didn't make any difference.

After only 17 minutes, Massaro swung over a corner and Scott Langridge headed the visitors ahead. Danny Punt limped off for Bridges after half an hour and his absence looked ominous when Chipstead sub Gareth Mitchell levelled after 57 minutes.

Massaro might not have been getting much joy in the air but on the floor he his far too good for most defenders at this level. With 18 minutes left, he sprung the Chipstead offside trap to meet Sean Campbell's center for his 11th goal of the season.

Two minutes later it was contest over, Massaro setting up sub Nathan Pullen for his first FA Cup goal.
