This year's FA Community Shield between Arsenal and Manchester United will see a first.
Following on from last season's England Home games, The FA will be producing accessible format programmes for the Visually Impaired available in audio and large print and can be ordered, free of charge.
We are constantly striving to improve the experience of disabled supporters at FA events. Through a process of consultation with the National Association of Disabled Supporters (NADS), the Millennium Stadium and feedback from supporters who have attended the games, we have taken the following steps to address some of the issues which have previously been raised about games at the Stadium.
- Dedicated FA staff member on hand to deal with any problems (please call 07815 885473)
- Audio and Large print programmes for visually impaired supporters, these are available free from The FA (e-mail accessengland@thefa.com or phone 020 7745 4776)
- Three rows of seats sectioned-off in front of lower tier wheelchair user areas to improve sightlines
- Leaflet campaign to discourage standing in front of wheelchair user areas
The major concern with the stadium has always been sightlines and we are currently involved in some very positive discussions with NADS and the Millennium Stadium to ensure we come to a more long-term solution. We are confident that these should be in place for next year's Football League and FA games. In the meantime, we continue to welcome any feedback you may have about your experiences at FA organised games.
If you are interested in receiving a free audio or large print programme please e-mail: accessengland@thefa.com or call 020 7745 4776
