Leatherhead fans are dreaming of another FA Cup run to match those of 1975 and 2007 after a dramatic comeback against Carshalton Athletic in our 'Road To Wembley' tie.
After a lacklustre start which saw them fall behind, it was substitute Adam Burchell who proved to be the hero as he fired The Tanners into the next round.
Carshalton started on the front foot, Pelayo Pico Gomez firing wide from the edge of the box and Luke Pigden drilling a 25-yard drive inches over the crossbar inside the first five minutes.
The Tanners were struggling to get out of their half, although left back Dan Parkinson was proving to be a useful outlet, they were unable to mount an attack as Athletic continued to press.
As the rain lashed down, the home support urged their team to up the tempo, but it seemed inevitable a goal was coming - and that was the case on 23 minutes.
Pigden whipped in a corner from the right towards the back post, Harold Adametey rose to head down towards the six-yard box and striker Steve Butterworth showed his poachers instinct to stab the ball into the net to send the packet of vocal away supporters into ecstasy.
If you'd have asked anyone within Fetcham Grove for a prediction at this point, you would have been hard-pressed to find anyone predicting anything other than a runaway victory for Carshalton.
But the goal actually sparked Leatherhead into life.
A free-kick for the hosts was launched into the area on 33 minutes and a deflected header was on its way in for an own goal, but a fabulous fingertip save from Dean Snedker forced it on to the upright, as hopes of an equaliser started to arise - and this became a reality three minutes later.
Another set-piece was sent into the back post from Matt Smart and Tom Bradbrook rose to head his side level.
The upturn continued into the second half as Leatherhead continued where they had left off. Half-time sub Jake Downs was looking lively down the right channel and goalscorer Bradbrook was a constant menace.
His side looked to have survived the attacking burst they had faced since conceding as the match turned into a more even affair before it lit up again on 77 minutes.
Carshalton had failed to clear a corner as the ball fell to Tanners' Jamie Coyle out to the right. The big defender jinked to the byline and sent a deep cross towards the head off Allan Tait. The No.10's low header looked to be a comfortable catch for Snedker, but the keeper spilled the ball as Burchell poked home to steal the 'super sub' headlines.
Things went from bad to worse for The Robins in the closing stages as their cup hopes evaporated. Skipper Adriano Moraes was shown a red card for a late tackle on Elie Kayembe in injury time, confirming a miserable Cup exit for Carshalton.
The full-time whistle was met with wild celebrations from both fans and the players alike as all eyes turn to Monday's Second Round Qualifying draw.
