Costel Pantilimon has been an FA Cup ever-present for Manchester City this season and is hoping to cap it all off with victory on Saturday.
The big Romanian is the usual back-up to Joe Hart for City’s Premier League games, but Blues boss Roberto Mancini has put his faith in Pantilimon in The Cup.
And with just one game to go in Saturday’s Final against Wigan Athletic, the 26-year-old is looking forward to lining up at Wembley again.
He told the official FA Cup Final match programme: “To play at Wembley for the first time was a great pleasure for me.
“It was fantastic for me and for the team to win that game and make it to The Final.
“I’ve enjoyed every game. I haven’t played too many games, but every match was a good one because every time I have a chance I need to take it.”
Pantilimon is also assured of a big support from Romania for the game.
After picking up caps at junior level and for the senior team, the 6’7” stopper is a popular figure back home.
And he says The FA Cup will be watched intently by football fans in the Romania given his presence in the City team.
He added: “It’s an important competition, not just for me but for everyone back home in Romania.
“I would like to think that a lot of people will be watching me back home. I think the people back there respect me.”
