British boxer Carl Froch was joined by FATV at Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup Third Round defeat to Oldham on Saturday.
The IBF world super-middleweight champion watched on as his beloved Forest fell to a 3-2 defeat.
But before the tie ‘The Cobra’ spoke of his hopes for 2013 and the bouts he is looking to arrange.
He said: “I’m very close to securing a deal with [WBA world super-middleweight champion Mikkel] Kessler.
“After that, if the Lucien Bute rematch doesn’t happen, I’ll be going after [WBC and WBA (super) world super-middleweight champion] Andre Ward.
“Two big fights for me, potentially three fights this year.
“Kessler’s the big one... that’s the fight everyone wants to see. We should have something to announce next week.”
Froch also spoke of his fondness for his hometown club and his early memories of The City Ground.
He added: “My first football game was [at] Forest. I was probably about eight. I can’t remember who it was against but I was stood up at the Trent End.
“When you see what they achieved; ‘79, ‘80 - back-to-back European champions, the Brian Clough era.
“Brian Clough’s a legend, everyone knows Brian Clough and everyone knows Nottingham Forest because of that.”
