Sergio Torres has a special relationship with The FA Cup and is hoping for more success this season.
Crawley’s Argentine midfielder has been part of the club’s Cup adventures in the last three seasons, including two Fifth Round appearances.
And he also scored a memorable late winner against Derby County in 2011’s Third Round, something which he says gave him the ‘best feeling‘ he’s ever had on a football pitch.
Torres and his team-mates are now preparing for the chance to take on another Premier League team, as Reading visit Broadfield Stadium in TheFA.com's 'Road To Wembley' trail.
“I love this competition and last year we got to the Fifth Round again,” Torres told FATV, after helping his side past Chelmsford City in the Second Round.
“We played Stoke, another Premier League side and I thought we did really well but we didn’t win.
“But when we played Derby and I scored in the 91st minute, it was the best feeling I have ever had on a football pitch.
“The referee blew the whistle straight away after the goal and all of the fans came on the pitch.
“It went crazy with all of the media afterwards and it’s something that I look at very often on YouTube.”
After the victory over Derby, Crawley saw off Torquay United in the Fourth Round to set up a trip to Manchester United.
And Torres is still beaming when he recalls their game at Old Trafford, which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat.
He added: “I always tell my friends in Argentina how good The FA Cup is.
“It gives the small teams a chance to play against the big teams and to test yourself against the best players in the world.
“I couldn’t believe that I was going to play Manchester United at Old Trafford and my dad flew from Argentina just to see that game.
“It’s called the Theatre Of Dreams and that made my dream come true.
“I won’t ever forget it and it’s a great memory.”
