Lethal Bizzle is preparing to make his FA Cup debut on Saturday, on the Upton Park pitch ahead of the tie between West Ham and Manchester United.

The award-winning rapper is hoping to record the first official FA Cup Anthem and will be performing his song ‘Not A Saint’ along with co-artists Vato Gonzalez & Donae’o before the televised Third Round tie this weekend.

And Bizzle, cousin of former England youth and Arsenal player Emmanuel Frimpong, paid a trip to Wembley to help launch The FA’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ style initiative to find an official FA Cup 2012-13 Anthem.

A six-strong shortlist of some of the UK’s biggest music acts will battle it out to produce the soundtrack to the world’s oldest domestic football competition, with the decision in the hands of the British public.

The likes of grime artist Devlin and Leeds-based band Pigeon Detectives are amongst those hoping to record the Anthem, which will be played at Wembley in May as the teams enter the pitch for The Final.

Speaking to FATV, Lethal Bizzle said: “I’ve watched The FA Cup since I was a boy and always dreamed of playing in it.

"When I heard about the opportunity, I thought that I definitely want to do it.

"It's at West Ham's ground, I'm a local in east London so it's down the road and it will be cool to go there and perform and hopefully just rock it!

“It’s a special competition and I’m made up to be a part of it, and hopefully I can become part of its history by producing the official FA Cup Anthem.

“To have my music open The FA Cup Final really would be a dream come true.”
