Luton Town boss can't wait for his side's Fourth Round trip to Premier League Norwich City

Luton Town boss Paul Buckle is licking his lips at the prospect of locking horns with his friend Chris Hughton after the Hatters were paired with Norwich City in Sunday's FA Cup Fourth Round draw.

The Conference Premier side recorded one of the shock results of the Third Round weekend when they beat Championship outfit Wolves 1-0 on Saturday.

Their reward for that win is a trip to Carrow Road in the next stage and Buckle insists his players deserve to face top flight opposition.

He said: "It's very exciting for everyone at the club. I am delighted for the players as one thing they wanted was a Premier League team.

"I am also pleased it's away from home. It was fantastic to knock out Wolves at home but it will be great for our fans to take in a Premier League atmosphere.

"I know Chris Hughton well and he has already texted me to says he's looking forward to the game, which was really good of him."

Hatters chairman Nick Owen echoed his manager’s sentiments and recalled an infamous tussle with Norwich in 1959. "It's a terrific draw," said Owen.

"One memory I have of Norwich is that we played them in two epic FA Cup Semi-Finals in 1959 where we beat them after a replay to get to Wembley.

"It's great for the fans that it is comparatively local as Norwich are only about 90 miles away. It's a tie I am really looking forward to."

Ties will take place over the weekend of 26 January. Click here for the full list of fixtures.
