Jack Wilshere is predicting an open game against Brighton in Saturday’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Amex Stadium.

The Arsenal playmaker scored his side’s winner in their Third Round replay win over Swansea last week and now he is relishing taking on Gus Poyet’s Seagulls.

Wilshere said: “We know what The FA Cup means in England. It’s a great competition.

“We’ve got a tough game up next, Brighton away. We saw what they did in the last round [against Newcastle], so we’ll have to get ourselves up for it and go again.

“They’ve got a great manager and their philosophy is to play football so we know it will be a good, open game and hopefully it will play into our hands.”

Meanwhile, Poyet is hopeful that his right-back, Bruno, will be available at the weekend following an Achilles complaint.

The Uruguayan told Brighton’s official website: “I don’t know about Bruno at the moment, I will find out today [Thursday].

“It will be nice to see if he can train with us but the situation has got to be right, considering the snow on the ground.”
