Anton Ferdinand hopes QPR’s mini-revival can be aided with a run in The FA Cup this season.
The Hoops face Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, just a few days after their morale-boosting victory against local rivals Chelsea on Wednesday.
And Ferdinand is hoping 2013 can bring about a change in fortunes for the west London side under the charge of new boss Harry Redknapp.
He told FATV: “It’s going to be a tough one, but we’re at home and we’re starting to make our home a fortress again.
“I don’t care who it is, but when you play at home at Loftus Road in a tight ground like that, the fans are our twelfth man and we can beat anyone.”
Former West Ham and Sunderland defender Ferdinand says the squad have been boosted by the arrival of Redknapp.
It had been a difficult start to the season for Rangers, who have found themselves rooted to the bottom of the league table.
But the 27-year-old says that Redknapp’s appointment has brought a renewed energy and spirit to the Loftus Road squad.
“Harry’s been brilliant,” he added. “He’s come in, with his team, and has lifted the place.
“Results weren’t going too well and people had their heads down but he’s come in and lifted the place, which he does everywhere that he goes.
“If we can put together a run in The FA Cup, that can breed confidence, which is what we need.”
