Amir Khan believes the confidence gained from Bolton’s Third Round victory at Sunderland can help them progress further in The FA Cup.

The Bolton-born former boxing champion is a huge Wanderers fan and is backing the Trotters to put on a performance against Everton on Saturday.

And after a morale-boosting win at the Stadium Of Light last week, Khan is confident the Championship side can beat David Moyes’ outfit.

Speaking at the FA150 launch, Khan told FATV: "That win at Sunderland was what we needed, to give us a bit of confidence.

"Everton are a tough team, but Bolton can do it because I think they play well when they play good teams.

"It maybe just gives them that motivation and an extra push, so let’s see that.

"It's been tough for Dougie Freedman because we've been relegated and are half way down the table, so I just hope they can start winning some more games.”
