FC United of Manchester were spot on as they produced a fine performance to win their FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round Qualifying tie against Kendal thanks in large part due to two penalties by Dean Stott.
United were a goal down at half-time as Kevin Leadbitter opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour with a well-taken finish as he lobbed home.
But the hosts roared back as Stott held his nerve to first equalise after Jerome Wright saw a goalbound shot blocked by a Kendal arm.
Adam Jones then gave the hosts the lead with a header from a corner, before Stott made the game safe as Kendal defender Paul Alexander saved Wright's shot at goal with his hand and was sent off before the penalty was dispatched with aplomb.
And they will be joined in the next round by Gloucester City, who eased past Eastleigh, winning 1-0.
