Luis Boa Morte will be stepping into the shoes of an FA Cup underdog on Saturday, something which is a new feeling for him.
The Portuguese is now playing for League Two side Chesterfield, who travel to face high-flying Tranmere Rovers in the Second Round Proper.
And having played for clubs such as Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham United in his career, the 35-year-old is used to being amongst the favourites in FA Cup ties.
He told FATV: “In The FA Cup, you always look for the underdogs and that's what we are, because Tranmere are doing really well and top of League One.
“It's always a traditional competition and it's always important to play and be a part of it, so I’m excited to be involved again.”
Boa Morte, who joined the Spireites in October after a spell playing in Greece and South Africa, says that a trip to the Emirates Stadium or Craven Cottage would be his ideal scenario should they reach Sunday’s Third Round draw.
But just being involved in The FA Cup still remains a big thing for him, even as one of the most experienced players in the competition.
"When I was young, we always had access on the Portuguese channels to The Final,” he added.
“It was always a big thing at the old Wembley and it was every little boy's dream to be part of The FA Cup.”
