Queens Park Rangers defender Danny Gabbidon wants to use this Saturday's FA Cup clash with Chelsea to prove his worth to new manager Mark Hughes.
Rangers have been linked with a number of high-profile names since Hughes' arrival - with Gabbidon's position at centre-back seemingly under threat.
Hughes' men will go into the west London derby as massive underdogs owing to the 11 league places that separate the two sides.
But Rangers side came out on top the last time the two rivals met in the Premier League in October, with a 1-0 win, and Gabbidon wants his side to rediscover the form that earned them the pre-Christmas win.
"We're playing a different way, we have a new manager so things might take a few weeks to gel," said the former West Ham man.
"It's a tough game. It's a good tie. We had a good game in the league when we managed to beat them so we will have to play at that level again because they are top quality side."
If Gabbidon can keep £50m Chelsea striker Fernando Torres quiet at Loftus Road he might go some way to convincing his manager he no longer needs to splash more cash following the further signing of Manchester City's Nedum Onuoha this week.
The Welsh international also scored the winning goal in their Third Round Replay against Milton Keynes Dons, so just wants to keep that good form going.
"There is nothing I can do apart from keep doing my thing and working hard. If someone comes in and takes my place it will be one of those things, that's football," he said.
"The only thing I can do is keep taking my chances and working hard in training and if I'm not playing then I will be trying my best to get back in and impress the manager, that's the way it goes."
