The FA Cup with Budweiser
Third Round Proper Draw
Ties to be played over the weekend of 5 & 6 January 2013
Winning clubs will receive £67,500 from The FA prize fund
Coventry City boss Mark Robins says he is delighted his side have been drawn away to Tottenham Hotspur in the Third Round of The FA Cup.
The clash is a repeat of the 1987 Final, which Coventry won 3-2 after extra-time.
The fortunes of both teams have changed since then, though, with Spurs aiming for a place in the Champions League while Coventry are now in League One.
But Robins believes the magic of The FA Cup could make all the difference when the teams meet at White Hart Lane.
"This is a really good cup tie," he told the club's official website. "Yes we wanted to be at home, but we now have the chance to play against one of the top sides in Europe who are steeped in FA Cup history and we will be relishing that chance.
"It will certainly be a good day out for our supporters. There are always surprises in the Third Round of The FA Cup and we have to hope that we can be one of them.
"We have been to Arsenal this season and acquitted ourselves well, but we want to avoid a repeat of the scoreline.
"The 1987 Cup Final was a real classic and I remember it very well indeed. I am sure this will bring back some memories for our supporters."
