Horsham v Cray Wanderers
The FA Carlsberg Trophy
Second Round Qualifying
Saturday 1 November 2008
Winning clubs will receive £3,000 from The FA
Cray Wanderers may be underdogs for their FA Trophy Second Round Qualifying match against Horsham but they have experience on their side - in the form of a midfield trio that has amazingly played more than 800 games for the club.
Jamie Kempster, Dean Morris and Jamie Wood can count a total of 817 games for Cray between them - with Kempster scoring the winning goal against Horsham when the two sides met in their most recent encounter two years ago.
But the disappointment of missing out on a place in the Isthmian Premier League in 2005 via a play-off defeat at the hands of Horsham still lingers at Cray.
And club secretary John de Palma said: "We are definitely looking for payback, so we will approach this game with a positive attitude and we will go all out to win.
"Experience always comes in handy in big games, and we have a wealth of experience in our side. We always spring surprises on bigger teams and we hope to continue that at Horsham."
Colin Luckett is another Cray player with great experience, having won The FA Trophy back-to-back with Kingstonian in 1999 and 2000.
But de Palma added: "Colin hasn't said much about when he lifted The Trophy, he is a very quiet guy.
"However, he will always put in a good performance and while he's quiet in the dressing he is very proud of his achievements."
