There were plenty of goals up and down the country on a busy Saturday of FA Trophy Second Round Qualifying action, with 36 ties taking place in all.

The day’s biggest winners were midlands side Nuneaton Town, who proved too strong for Unibond League Division One South team Willenhall Town during a comprehensive 6-0 victory at Noose Lane.

There were also convincing wins for FC Halifax Town, who ran out 5-0 winners at Leicestershire side Shepshed Dynamo and for Kent club Tonbridge Angels who eased past Merstham 6-1 at Longmead Stadium.

Local pride was also at stake across the country, and nowhere was that more true than at Kingsmeadow in south-west London.

Hosts Kingstonian took on Hendon, of north-west London, and to add extra spice to the tie Hendon had already knocked their Isthmian League Premier Division rivals out of this season's FA Cup.

Today, however, it was the turn of Kingstonian to wage revenge as the hosts ran out 4-2 winners in a cracking tie.

Meanwhile, just several miles down the road, fellow London clubs Harrow Borough and Wealdstone played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Other sides that booked their place in the next qualifying round included Salford City, of the Unibond Division One North, who beat Clitheroe 5-3 in an end-to-end clash at Moor Lane, and Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division club Farnborough, 5-2 winners over Burgess Hill Town.

Elsewhere, Norfolk’s King Lynn, Cheshire club Witton Albion, Hertfordshire based Hitchin Town, Cornwall’s Truro City and Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division club Chippenham Town all enjoyed victories.
