The FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup

Goals galore

The FA Sunday Cup
Preliminary Round
Sunday 21 September 2008

Goals galore littered the four games in The FA Sunday Cup Preliminary Round, as Scots Grey smashed Sporting Dynamo FC 13-0 away from home, much to the delight of manager Steve Osborn.

Scots totally outclassed Dynamo, with four goals coming from Alan Jeffries and a hat-trick from Liam Herne. Andy Thorley and Will Heathford each netted a brace also netted a brace, leaving Osborn to admit there was a large gulf in class.

"I think we were just too good for them," he said. "We had not played them before, but they got through to the first round last year. We were knocked out at the second round, so hopefully we can do better this year after a result like that. We are away in Birmingham in the next round, so we'll see."

At the Bedfont Sports Club home striker Tosie Fasrino was the star as his double propelled Bedfont Sunday FC to a 3-0 victory over Battersea Ironsides FC. There was only one goal before the interval as Neville Barratt nodded in a corner after 25 minutes. Battersea came close to equalising after the break, and hit the cross bar.

But Fasrino managed to poke in a cross at the far post before sealing the win with a sweet volley from Barratt's pass.
