Wealdstone are expecting a record crowd for The FA Cup First Round Proper clash against high-flying Rotherham and are hopeful that their young squad could inspire them to cause the upset.

"It is a dream come true for us," said Nick DuGard, press officer at Wealdstone.

"The younger supporters at the club have never seen us play a League side with us not having played one in 20 years, so everyone is very excited by the draw."

Wealdstone currently sit fourth in the Isthmian Premier Division, but with Dartford looking like running away with the title, automatic promotion may already be beyond them.

"It has been a fantastic start to the campaign with us only having lost once and being unbeaten in out last 15 matches," added DuGard.

"The target at the beginning of the season was the play-offs and if we can get into them then we think we have a great chance of going up through them."

Wealdstone have one of the youngest squads in the league with an average age of just 22 and DuGard stated that the experience of 29-year-old midfield playmaker Ryan Ashe will be important to the side.

And DuGard explained that the pre-season friendly they had this season against Leeds, which set a record attendance for the club of 1102, would be important.

"I think the experience of the Leeds game could help the players. The players are very confident and don't worry so much about what may or may not happen to them. They have had experience of a large, excitable crowd and hopefully with the pressure off they can relax and play well.

"Unfortunately we will be without our leading goal scorer Greg Ngoyi through suspension, which is a blow, but we will have Charlie Mpi who is lightening quick up-front and will give their defence something to think about.

"We have to take advantage of playing at home and take our chances. Although a draw would be a great result, it would then be very difficult to get anything from a trip to Rotherham."
