Rickie Lambert insists there will be no room for sentiment as he looks to inflict FA Cup heartache on his beloved Bristol Rovers later this week.
The Southampton striker will return to the Memorial Ground on Friday night for the first time since leaving the club in August to make the £1m move to St Mary's.
Lambert's 29 goals last season caught the eye of several Championship clubs before Saints moved swiftly to land the player who had terrorised the club's defence during an FA Cup clash nearly two years ago.
It was Lambert's 84th minute strike in February 2008 which put Rovers through to the quarter finals of The FA Cup and sent Saints spiralling out of the competition.
It is a result which few Saints fans have forgotten and, despite having already scored 12 goals this season, Lambert reckons he will now need to put his old club to the sword to earn redemption.
"I am looking forward to it immensely," said the 27-year-old frontman.
"I love The FA Cup and I get to return to a club for who I have very good feelings.
"I think the Saints fans feel like it's payback time after I scored the goal that knocked them out last time.
"And I'll make sure I do my best to make sure that happens."
