Non-League Kettering Town earned a place in Third Round draw after holding Notts County to a 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane.
The Poppies more than merited a second crack at their League Two opponents and a home Third Round tie against Eastwood Town awaits the winners of the replay at Rockingham Road.
Amid a driving rain storm, Kettering initially struggled to gain a foothold in the game.
But Alfie Potter's slide-rule pass on 18 minutes sent Brett Solkhon through on goal and the midfielder's low finish trickled under the despairing Russell Hoult to give Kettering a shock lead.
The Conference side were unable to hang on to the advantage until the break, however, as Jamie Forrester turned inside and squared for the unmarked Sean Canham to fire home from six yards on 34 minutes.
Delroy Facey had a tremendous opportunity to win the tie for the home side but saw his effort from close range brilliantly saved by Lee Harper in the Kettering goal and Canham could only hook the rebound over the crossbar.
Despite a raucous reception by the crowd to news of the Third Round draw, neither side could break the deadlock and the sides will now have to do battle again in a replay.
