Mansfield Town have made it through to The FA Cup First Round Proper to set up a mouth-watering match against their close rivals Chesterfield.

Mansfield won 1-0 in their Fourth Round Qualifying replay against York City on Tuesday night and they will now face neighbours Chesterfield for the first time ever in The FA Cup.

Mark Stevenson - head of media at The Stags - said the rivalry against Chesterfield goes back to their respective mining days.

"Miners from both towns were rivals and this continued on the football pitch. You could tell last night the fans really wanted it," Stevenson said.

Mansfield have struggled away from home in the Conference Premier, but Stevenson feels that form doesn't count in The FA Cup.

"Not only does form go out the window in The Cup, but also in local derbies. They are our arch enemies and a win there could resurrect our season," he said.

Conference North side Droylsden are also through after recording a 2-1 win at Belper Town to set-up a money-spinning tie at League Two high-flyers Darlington.

Histon's impressive 5-2 win against Durham City means they will face League One side Swindon Town. Two goals each from Jack Midson and Danny Wright, sandwiched between a Josh Simpson strike, were enough to see the Cambridge side through.

AFC Telford United will also take on League One opposition in the shape of in-form Southend United. Telford won 3-0 at Northwich Victoria, an Andy Brown goal and two from Lee Moore settling the tie.

FA Trophy holders Ebbsfleet United won 1-0 at home to Woking and they now travel to Crewe Alexandra, currently bottom of League One.

Leiston, who play down in the ninth tier of English football, pulled off one of the shocks of the round as they progressed thanks to a 3-1 win at Conference Premier side Lewes. They are the lowest ranked team left in the competition.

They are joined in the First Round Proper by fellow Tuesday night replay winners Forest Green Rovers, Eastwood Town and Curzon Ashton.
