Sir Alex Ferguson has warned his Manchester United players not to be overawed by the occasion of the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley Stadium.

Ferguson, aiming to win his fourth League and FA Cup Double, is expecting an emotional game against Chelsea as the famous trophy returns home after a six year absence.

And the most successful manager the competition has ever seen says he will use his pain of missing out on the Double in 1995 to ensure victory.

"I think The FA Cup has come home," he said. "All respect to Cardiff because they did a fantastic job.

"But Wembley is Wembley - it is just the name. Anyone who has had a long enough life to know a bit of the history will be glad it is back. It is a fantastic cup.

"I am expecting a good game. I think both teams are going to rise to the occasion and play good football. It is not about playing the occasion it is about playing the game and we will keep things as normal as possible and play the game.

"We have experience in terms of cutting short our title-winning celebrations and preparing for The Final. We know when to get back to business.

"We should have won that Final in 1995 against Everton, but Neville Southall had a fantastic game. There was no doubt the trip back from West Ham when we had lost the league was very difficult for us.

"There was two or three days when everyone was down and we hoped that by the time we reached The Final we would be ok, but it wasn't to be.

"On one hand you have a wounded animal in Chelsea wanting revenge for not winning the title and on the other you have a team that is full of confidence after winning the League.

"It was important for us to win the League because Chelsea had steamrollered it for the last two years. It was a great performance from us to win the League and now we can go to this Final and just enjoy the game."
