Let's meet again

The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON
Second Round Qualifying
Tuesday 30 September 2008
Winning clubs will receive £4,500 from The FA

Out of last weekend's FA Cup Second Round Qualifying ties 22 of them ended in draws and they are all due for replay action this Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Among those eager to progress will be Bedford Town, who managed to take AFC Wimbledon to a second match after a goal in the 89th minute by debutant Graham Clark forced a 2-2 draw.

Wimbledon dominated much of the match before Southern League side Bedford stole a lead when Steve Gentle shot into an empty net. Bedford then conceded a penalty just before half-time and John Main scored from the spot.

The second period went much more to form, as the Conference South side looked to press home their dominance and subsequently took the lead when Kennedy Adjei's left-foot strike found the back of the Bedford net.

However, the magic wand of The FA Cup waved again as Bedford scored an equaliser in the last minute of the game. Clark's header levelled the scores at 2-2, which means the two sides must do it all again on Tuesday night.

There will also be a West Yorkshire derby to be replayed after Guiseley and Garforth Town, who once featured Brazil World Cup legend Socrates in their side, shared four goals at Nethermore Park.

Guiseley took the lead through Dave Merris, who converted Anthony Lloyd's cross. James Hanson then delivered a ball in from the right for Adam Muller to shoot beyond Gavin Phillips into the corner to put the hosts two-up. Mark Piper halved the deficit just before the interval and Garforth's Andy Hayward  deservedly secured a replay when he scored the easiest of chances with ten minutes to go.

Elsewhere this week, last season's FA Cup surprise package Havant & Waterlooville, who made it to Liverpool's Anfield last season, now travel to Shortwood United after a 2-2 weekend draw.

Staines Town, who last season advanced to the Second Round Proper after beating Stockport County, will make the journey to Conference South's table-topping club Hayes & Yeading United, after a goalless tie first time out.
