Portsmouth's Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar says winning The FA Cup with Pompey would be a massive achievement.
Having spent the last two seasons playing in England, the influential midfielder says he understands the importance of The FA Cup in the English game.
"I've been thinking about this every day - I know what The FA Cup means in England and this could be my first major trophy abroad," he said.
"I know how important it would be to win, not just for the progress of my career, but for the city and the club.
"As we haven't been here since 1939, this is probably the best opportunity we'll ever have."
Kranjcar also believes that winning The FA Cup with Portsmouth would mean more than if he won it while playing for one of the very top clubs in England.
"Winning The FA Cup with Pompey would be a huge achievement, bigger than winning it with Manchester United or Chelsea - they're used to winning trophies."
Like many foreign players playing in England, Kranjcar's first experience of English football was watching The FA Cup Final on television.
"Yes, they broadcast The Final at home every year," he explained.
"I remember watching Silvio Maric play for Newcastle against Man United in 1999 and everyone wanting him to win. It's a special tournament and people make such a big deal of it. The fans see it as a major trophy, but the domestic cup in Italy or Spain isn't really as big a deal."
Porstmouth's run to the Final also gives manager Harry Redknapp his first chance at FA Cup glory and Kranjcar was quick to praise his manager's influence on the side during the campaign.
"Everyone would say that we are here mostly because of him. The things you've heard about him as a manager attract you to the club.
"Portsmouth could only dream about the sort of players they have here now a couple of years ago. Sol Campbell, David James, Kanu - they came here because of Harry Redknapp.
"Working with him has been very satisfying, and we've had an unbelievable season. Hopefully we can end it on a high note."
