With less than 24 hours before FIFA decides who will host the 2018 World Cup, England 2018 Vice-President David Beckham told FATV that England are ready to host a 'big competition'.

The former England captain, who has made 115 appearances for the Three Lions, is in Zurich to support England's Bid before the announcement is made on Thursday afternoon and says he is enjoying the experience as they try to bring the World Cup to England.

"I’m honoured to be in the Bid team trying to bring the World Cup to this country," he said in an exclusive interview with FATV. "I’ve played for many years for England, I’ve worn the shirt, I’ve seen how much passion is in our country.

"I’ve been lucky enough to have played in a few World Cups and to be here and to feel the pressure of the decision, I’ve enjoyed it."

Beckham and the English delegation have also been joined by Prince William and David Cameron for the final push before they learn their fate.

"It adds a hell of a weight to our bid to have the Prime Minister and the future King of England on our side lobbying like they are doing," added Beckham. "I saw that in Singapore and saw how having Tony Blair there supporting the bid was a huge thing. It’s the same here."

And the ex-Manchester United man was also full of praise for everything England has to offer with its Bid and believes it's beyond compare.

"We have everything," he said. "There’s not one thing, one negative about having a World Cup in our country. Nowhere in the world has facilities like we do.

"I’m not just talking about the stadiums, I’m talking about travel, we have hotels - all over the country it’s set up for a big competition. That’s why we’re ready, that’s why we believe we are the best country to host the 2018 World Cup and I hope that we get that chance.

"Nowhere compares to the passion that we show, the fans base that we have, I’ve been lucky enough to play in the Spanish League and also the Italian League, and yes, there’s great stadiums and passionate fans, but nowhere compares to England."

Each of the 2018 bidders will have the chance to present their plans for World Cup football to the FIFA Executive Committee in Zurich on Thursday morning before a final decision on the 2018 hosts is announced later in the day.
