England Women’s forward Eniola Aluko, who is currently playing in the USA for Saint Louis Athletica added: "I am honoured to be an England 2018 World Cup Bid Ambassador. Many of the players in our squad have been fortunate to play in some amazing international tournaments but nothing can match the atmosphere we experienced when playing in Euro 2005 in England. The knowledge and passion for the game is unrivalled and it would be an incredible boost for both girls and boys football if we were to host the World Cup in 2018."

Andy Anson, Chief Executive of England 2018, commented: “This is a tremendous season for international football and anyone who pulls on an England shirt at any level is an ambassador for our nation and in turn the England 2018 World Cup Bid. We are also delighted to have secured support from right across the football family and feel each and every individual will be a tremendous asset to England 2018. We also anticipate that over the course of the campaign even more people in the game, clubs and supporters will step forward to help us try and achieve our goal of World Cup football in England.”

England 2018 Chairman, Lord Triesman, said: “This is an incredibly strong group of ambassadors, with a range of talents and experience, from across the world’s football community. It is a positive reflection on English football that so many leading past and present players from around the world have chosen to show their support for England 2018 in this way.
