Qualified FA coach Baljinder Singh nominated for British Asian Sports Award.
Qualified FA coach and founder of the Khalsa Football Academy, Baljinder Singh has been shortlisted for the British Asian Sports Award, an accolade which recognises and celebrates the substantial achievements of British Asian sporting talents from across the UK.
The British Asian Sports Award was established in 2000 and has grown to be the biggest Asian sports awards in the UK.
Last year, Singh made history when he led Team India to victory in the first-ever ‘Street Child’ World Cup in South Africa.
In August, he facilitated a unique project in Hertfordshire which saw 14 coaches from Valencia train over 100 British youngsters. He has also undertaken a lot of good work to highlight important social issues through football such as his ‘Striving For Unity Campaign’.
“Huge stars like Amir Khan and Isa Guha have been nominated and won, to just be alongside them is a huge honour,” Singh said of his nomination.
“I hope that people will support and vote for me. Winning the award would be a dream come true and it will help raise the profile of the work myself and the Khalsa Football Academy volunteers do with Street Children."
The panel who nominated Singh for this award comprised Mark Ramprakash, Denise Lewis OBE, Lorraine Deschamps, Mihir Bose and Football Focus presenter Manish Bhasin.
