Wembley National Stadium Limited have today announced that David Bernstein has been appointed as a Non-Executive Board Member
Bernstein was the Chairman of Manchester City Football Club for five years, during which time he accumulated significant experience, which will prove invaluable to the WNSL Board. In particular, he negotiated the Club's move to its new home at the City of Manchester Stadium and was closely involved in its development as a venue suitable for football.
His interests outside football are wide-ranging and have included Board-level roles at Pentland Group, French Connection, Blacks Leisure, Adams Childrenswear and Ted Baker.
With construction well underway, the Wembley Stadium project is moving in to a new phase, with huge commercial opportunities.
WNSL Chairman Michael Jeffries welcomed Mr Bernstein to the Board, saying:
"This is a key appointment which strengthens the Board in the area of Stadium operations and underlines our commitment to redevelop Wembley Stadium to the highest standards."
