The FA Cup Final will see a crackdown on ticket touting.
The FA is cracking down on ticket touting at The FA Cup Final with the introduction of an Out the Touts campaign. It will also be beefing up its anti-touting operation around the stadium on 30 May.
Out the Touts gives fans the opportunity to send in their ‘resold’ ticket after the match so that The FA can trace its origin. The information provided will be used solely to help stop match tickets ending up in the hands of touts in future.
By sending The FA a used 'resold' ticket following The FA Cup Semi-Finals or Final, investigators can identify where the ticket has come from and trace how it has ended up in the hands of a tout.
The FA will take appropriate action to try and prevent the supply of tickets to touts. To ensure that the campaign is as successful as possible, The FA has confirmed that no action will be taken against any fan that sends in their used ticket.
However, The FA does not condone fans purchasing tickets from unofficial sources. Any fan buying a ticket from a tout or found with an unofficial or 'resold' ticket at Wembley Stadium can still be ejected from the ground and banned from future games.
It is illegal to sell football tickets above face value and The FA is determined to rid football of touts to help ensure that real fans are not paying inflated prices for tickets.
The FA is working hard to stamp out touting and monitors the internet closely for the illegal trading of tickets. Anyone with any concerns about unofficial websites trading in Wembley tickets can also ring the hotline with information and it will be investigated.
At the meeting of The FA Cup Final clubs today, both Chelsea and Everton supported The FA’s scheme and will cooperate in addition to their own anti-touting operations.
Anyone with relevant information should send the following details to the address below: Name, phone number, email address, seat number of the ticket, where they purchased the ticket and how much was paid for it. Sending in the used ticket will significantly help any case.
