CFA Business Support Manager

Vacancy opportunity for a Business Support Manager (Marketing & Comms Focus).

A vacancy has arisen for a CFA Business Support Manager to provide a high quality business support service to the National Game (NG) and a regional grouping of County FAs.

In addition, the post holder will track and support the implementation of the NG Marketing and Communications Plan, providing support to County FAs to develop commercial, marketing and communications

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide a range of high quality business support services to County FAs within three of The FA regions
  • Support County FAs to become sustainable and effective business operations
  • Support the provision of a range of high quality business support services to County FAs such as: financial management, customer service, commercial management and corporate governance
  • Support the production of resources and advise County FAs on operating procedures and policies for areas such as: Human Resources, Health and Safety, Equality and Employment Legislation
  • Support County FAs to become compliant with best practice, legislation and guidance in relation to equality, anti-discrimination and safeguarding policies
  • Produce high quality resources to underpin the successful implementation of the NGS
  • Track the delivery of key targets and projects highlighting what has been achieved, where performance is significantly above or below target and the reasons for any differences, identifying and sharing good practice
  • Enhance the knowledge and skills and provide regular updates to The FA’s Regional NG Managers on all aspects of Running the Game
  • Produce and present reports to various NG Committees
  • Support and track the implementation of the NG marketing and communications plan in close liaison in partnership with The FA’s Marketing and Communications Division
  • Provide commercial support to County FAs in close liaison with the FA’s Commercial Department
  • Develop effective communication channels into County FAs
  • Design and support the implementation of a Customer Services Policy across the NG and into County FAs
  • Plan and co-ordinate the key events and activities across the NG
  • Co-ordinate and update the NG Calendar
  • Co-ordinate and manage the content of MYFA and The FA.Com in relation to the NG
  • Co-ordinate and manage the content of CFA newsletters
  • Lead and publish the results of the annual County FA Website Questionnaire
  • Ensure the UMBRO Gift of Kit deal runs efficiently and meets the expectations of County FAs


The successful candidate will need to possess the following:

  • Knowledge of the Running the Game Goal area of The NGS
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering business support services
  • Knowledge of financial and business planning
  • Knowledge and experience of Marketing and Communications
  • Track record of delivering targets
  • Demonstrate success providing a range of customer support services
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Capable of influencing a diverse set of stakeholders including Boards and Committees
  • Manage budgets within specific parameters
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to contribute to project teams
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of sports equity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Negotiating skills
  • Excellent administration and IT Skills (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
