CAN YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE FUTURE OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL?
The Football Association’s Skills Programme aims to provide all 5-11s with a skill set to develop their game, foster lifelong healthy, active lifestyles and to improve the long-term performance of our national game. The Programme will have a massive short-and long-term impact on the nation’s children and football as a whole. The Programme aims to give 5-11s age appropriate coaching and self-help tools to learn the basics needed to reach their full potential.
Working with Tesco and the National Sports Foundation, The FA aims to provide two million children with skills training via a coaching programme and self-help website over the next three years. Following the initial success in the first year The FA is now extending the programme further.
The FA would like to appoint 24 new coaches to assist us with the delivery of this Programme. They will be based in the below counties and include the following roles:-

1 x Team Leader – Leicestershire and Rutland
1 x Team Leader - Staffordshire
1 x Skills Coach – Nottinghamshire
1 x Skills Coach – North Riding
1 x Skills Coach – Lancashire
1 x Skills Coaches – Hampshire
2 x Skills Coach – Berks and Bucks
2 x Skills Coaches – Bedfordshire
2 x Skills Coaches – Leicestershire and Rutland
2 x Skills Coaches – Middlesex
2 x Skills Coaches - Staffordshire
3 x Skills Coaches – East Riding
3 x Skills Coaches – Manchester
3 x Skills Coaches – Essex
TEAM LEADERS
The Team Leader will take responsibility for leading and managing a team of FA Tesco Skills Programme Coaches, ensuring that the team works effectively to deliver the Programme in order to enhance and influence the development of 5-11 year old children across the game. They will be committed to the value of 5–11-year-old development and in addition they will organise and deliver FA Skills Development Centres, promote the programme through Primary School visits, support 5-11-year-olds in FA Charter Standard Clubs and the Girls Centre of Excellence and to carry out essential administrative duties as required.
Successful candidates will possess the following:-
• Demonstrate the ability to lead and develop a small team.
• FA/UEFA Level 2 valid coaching award.
• Ability to meet administration duties and deadlines.
• Knowledge of age appropriate technique and skill development practices.
• Ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Ability to enthuse and communicate with 5-11-year-olds.
• Innovative and creative approach to learning.
• Ability to manage/prioritise workloads.
• Willingness to work unsocial working hours.

COACHES
The successful candidates will be part of a team who organise and deliver The FA Tesco Skills Programme to 5-11-year-olds through FA Skills Development Centres and promoting the programme through schools, Charter Standard Clubs and Girls Centres of Excellence. They will also carry out administrative duties to support the coaching programmes.
Experience required for these roles is:-
• FA/UEFA Level 2 valid coaching award knowledge.
• An ability to demonstrate and deliver appropriate technique and skill development practices.
• Ability to enthuse and communicate with 5-11-year-olds and create a positive learning environment.
• Energy and enthusiasm and proactive style.
• Able to work on one’s own initiative and plan own workload.
• Willingness to work unsocial working hours.
Due to the requirements of this role, successful applicants will undergo a screening process that will include an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure.
