The FA is the governing body for football in England and it is responsible for regulating, developing and promoting the game at all levels, from international football to the grassroots.

The FA owns and controls a variety of event based rights which it exploits to reinvest its revenue back into the game at all levels.

An exciting and challenging role has arisen for a solicitor to provide legal support to the organisation across a full range of legal issues.

The Role

• Delivering legal advice across a variety of issues with a particular emphasis on company law, brand protection, trademark registration and data protection.

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in all areas of The FA’s business including sponsorship, media, operations and supply service agreements.

• High profile and visible role, working as a key member within a team of four qualified solicitors.

The Person

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge gathered in a major law firm and/or corporate. At least two years PQE is preferred, although candidates with relevant skill sets regardless of PQE level are welcome to apply.

• Solid academic background and proven track record in drafting, negotiating and interpreting a whole range of contracts.

• Flexible and adaptable, willing to handle a wide range of legal issues and able to work under pressure to strict deadlines when required.

• Confident, articulate and assertive with a desire to succeed as a member of a busy legal department within a multi-dimensional business.
