The FA's Graham Noakes, Director of Football Administration and Refereeing and member of UEFA's Licensed Agents Panel will travel with Maurice Watkins, Director of Manchester United and a member of FIFA's Dispute Resolution Chamber, solicitor and Member of UEFA's Expert Legal Panel, and the Professional Footballers Association's Senior Executive Barry Horne to deliver a Seminar on Players Contracts and Registrations to 120 top Egyptian club and league managers in Cairo next week.

"We are delighted that The FA have agreed to come and deliver this seminar for us," said Mr Mohamed El Siagy, General Secretary of the Egyptian Football Association.

"We feel that our club and league managers will benefit from the expertise of our English colleagues in this field. The FA-CAF workshop on administration that was organised in Johannesburg, South Africa earlier this year was excellent and this prompted us to request The FA for a specific seminar on Player's Contracts and Registrations."

Egypt's Minister for Sport will open the proceedings on Monday August 19th at the Helnan Shepheard hotel in Cairo.

"This is the first seminar of its kind that The FA will be conducting in Egypt and we hope it marks the beginning of a closer relationship with yet another African football association." said Kim Fisher, The FA's International Relations Officer who will be co-ordinating the workshop.

"We are delighted that our colleagues Maurice Watkins from Manchester United and Barry Horne from the PFA have agreed to participate in the delivery of the seminar, as we felt it important to have input from a club and player's perspective and we are honoured that the Egyptian FA came to our association for assistance,"

Watkins, too, was pleased to be able to offer assistance through this invite, saying: "It is important for the global development of the game that we share our knowledge and expertise with those other countries where the professional game is still in its infancy. I am delighted to have been invited to present to the Egyptian Football Association along with my colleagues from The Football Association and the PFA.

"One area that is of increasing significance and complexity for all clubs is the matter of player contracts. The Egyptian Football Association contracts are similar to the traditional English standard contract, however there are some differences. The new areas in the proposed English standard contract may have some bearing on how the Egyptian FA can improve their standard contracts. For example, the latest developments covering areas such as rights exploitation, image rights, protection of rights and sponsorship will be of particular interest."

Fisher will also be meeting with CAF General Secretary Mustapha Fahmy whilst in Cairo, to discuss the second 2002 FA-CAF workshop entitled 'Strategic Planning for Coaches,' due to take place from 16-19th December in Lagos, Nigeria for Technical Directors from all CAF member associations, to be conducted by Martin Hunter and Les Reed from The FA's Coaching staff.
