Thursday, 05 July 2001.
As part of The Football Association's ongoing involvement in the UEFA - CAF Meridian Programme, which links European national associations with African national associations, TheF.A. was pleased to welcome Mr David Fani, The President of the Botswana F.A., to Soho Square this week.
During his three-day visit Mr Fani met with several members of the F.A.'s management team to gain an understanding of the way in which the governing body of the sport in this country is run and to discuss the potential for similar structures to be created in Botswana.
Fani also visited Liverpool Football Club and its academy during his stay, as well as meeting Mark Hulse of The Football Association's Medical and Exercise Science Unit at Lilleshall.
Jane Bateman said: "It was a pleasure to welcome Mr Fani to Soho Square. He is clearly extremely keen to fulfil Botswana's potential as a footballing nation and we are delighted to do anything that we can to help in that regard."
