At least a million children are to get to know The FA's Goal message this year. That's the target being set for the latest initiative in the programme to promote child protection and best practice in football throughout the country.
The children are to receive information cards showing a leading player from the Premiership supporting The FA's Goal campaign. The cards will also carry the number of The FA/NSPCC Helpline (0808 800 5000) - a free, dedicated service for anyone to report concerns or allegations of abuse in the game.
Support for Goal is coming in from many leading players and managers and The FA is set to announce a number of high profile ambassadors who will front part of the child protection and best practice programme.
With the Premiership season now underway, it's clear that leading figures in the game are behind The FA's programme of driving up standards in child protection and best practice.
With many junior leagues also preparing to kick-off the new campaign, The FA is continuing its programme of raising awareness of child protection issues. Clubs and schools can receive free copies of The FA's information cards, as well as posters and other promotional materials. Copies of Child protection and best practice - A guide are available too.
