The FA is running a new tarining scheme for referees in its attempt to stamp racism out of football.
Refs against racism
Thursday, 22 April 2004.
The FA is to provide special training for referees to help stamp out racism at all levels of football.
A pilot for this new training is being run at Leicester University on Thursday, 22nd April at 5pm. Media are invited to attend with interviews available from 3:30pm. Live access can also be arranged.
The course will clarify the sort of language that is unacceptable. Editors should note that words likely to cause offence will be used as part of the training process.
This pilot is part of The FA’s overall Football for All programme that is committed to fighting racism at all levels and making the game more inclusive.
